Practical Training is, as a whole, a significant part of Higher Education, as it contributes to the more effective professional application of the knowledge and skills acquired by postgraduate students during their studies, to their more effective integration into the labor market, and to the creation of a channel for the two-way exchange of information between Universities and professional organizations.

In order to be awarded the postgraduate degree of the Master’s Program entitled “Organization and Management of Sports Activities for People with Disabilities,” students must complete Practical Training with a total duration of 500 hours, corresponding to 20 ECTS credits, carried out during the 3rd semester of their studies.

Purpose of Practical Training

The purpose of Practical Training is twofold:

  1. Connecting theory with practice, as it often constitutes students’ first contact with the workplace, and
  2. Developing professional skills for the educational and social support of people with disabilities and/or special educational needs.

Through Practical Training, students:

  • become familiar with the working environment
  • assimilate and apply scientific knowledge through the process of professional practice
  • enrich their theoretical knowledge with valuable work experience (connecting theory and practice)
  • come into contact with the professional reality of their future occupation
  • become familiar with labor market requirements
  • gain hands-on educational experience
  • understand obligations, rights, and working relationships within a professional setting
  • acquire knowledge/skills related to planning and educational interventions
  • develop skills in collaborating and communicating with students and their parents
  • develop a sense of professional conscience
  • increase their prospects for professional networking
